When My Melody's Grandma first became a permanent resident on my island, I just knew I had to give her a Jam Jamboree-themed cabin, especially when I saw that the cabin could be customized in this beautiful purple color. I think it goes perfectly with her adorable purple and pink bonnet! And let's be honest, making jam and running a little jam shop is just such a perfect hobby for a sweet little grandma.
When I first designed this cabin, I only had a few of the Jam Jamboree items that were included when I purchased the Deluxe Version of the game. To fill out the space and make it feel a little cozier, I added some Cottage furniture that I also customized to suit the color scheme. I especially love how the red checkered fabric customization on the Cottage Chair and Cottage Dining Table fits the Jam Jamboree theme so well. It actually looks like it was made to be part of the same set! One of the requirements for making My Melody's Grandma a resident is three pieces of Cottage furniture anyway, so that worked out perfectly. I also included some candles with the Creative tag and cakes with the Bread tag to fulfill the rest of her requirements.
As you might already know, you don't need to fulfill a visitor's requirements after they've become a permanent resident, but I still like to include them as a little challenge. It also gives me a sense of direction when creating cabins, especially when I'm working with a theme or trying to decide what items to include.

My Melody's Grandma's Upgraded Jam Jamboree Cabin
Even though I was already very happy with the original cabin design, now that this year's Jam Jamboree Event has come to an end and I have all of the Jam Jamboree items, including both the Jamboree items from last year and the new Farmhouse items from this year, I just had to give My Melody's Grandma an upgraded Jam Jamboree cabin! This time, I went all out with the Jam Shop theme, although I did feel a little bad about taking away the cozy little living quarters she had in her old cabin design. ♡
I used every single item from the Jam Jamboree Collection, except for the Wallpaper, Jam Spool Table, and Jamboree Sign, simply because I accidentally used the Farmhouse Chalkboard from this year's collection instead. I kept the Jam Jamboree Event Stand as the centerpiece of the whole build and kept the little kitchen area behind it. In front of the stand, I added a sort of cashier counter area to make it look more like an actual Jam Shop.
At the front of the shop, I added some seating areas with a mix of the Jamboree Benches, Rocking Chair, and Cottage Dining Chairs. I just had to keep the Cottage Chairs because I love the red checkered pattern so much for this build! I also kept the candles with the Creative tag to fulfill My Melody's Grandma's requirements, but I'm seriously thinking about removing them or adding a few customized Plush Pals instead so they blend in more naturally with the build.
I'm also debating whether I should make the furniture even more purple and wood-colored to give the cabin a more cohesive look. While I do like the white wood accents, I think adding more brown wood could make the space feel even cozier and more rustic, especially alongside the gold accents I've added to some of the furniture's metal details.
There's actually a specific reason why I didn't use any of the new Farmhouse Furniture from this year's event in this cabin. Of course, using furniture from the same collection would make the build look more cohesive, but I'm actually planning to give My Melody's Grandpa, who lives right next door to My Melody's Grandma, a matching Farmhouse Cabin! I think it would suit him so well, and I just think it's adorable to imagine the two of them running a little Berry Farm and Jam Shop together. ♡

Final Thoughts
I'm really happy with how this cabin turned out, and I think it's one of my favorite cabins I've made so far! I might still go back and tweak a few little details, especially the furniture colors and some of the decorations, but for now, I'm really happy with my little Jam Shop. ♡
What do you think of the new design? And would you make any changes to it? I'd love to know what you think!
(Update) Rustic Brown Jam Jamboree Cabin
Shortly after posting this, I ended up changing the white wood to brown instead. While I did really like the white wood and thought it suited My Melody's Grandma really well, I think the brown gives the whole cabin a more cohesive and charming look. I especially like how well the brown wood goes with the cottage wallpaper, and how it really brings out the gold accents on the metal items, like the sink and cash register.
I purposely left the Jam Jamboree Event Stand as it was, with a bit of white wood, to make it stand out more as the centerpiece and also tie in with the white window behind it, and I think it just looks so good!
Aside from changing the white wood to brown, I also made a few small changes to some of the items I used for her requirements. I switched the candles for customized Plush Pals, and replaced the bread with the Jam Jamboree bread items instead, which I didn't even know existed until now! These still fulfill the same requirements as before, but I think they fit the cabin much better and feel more natural with the rest of the design.
The only furniture item I changed was the Farmhouse Chalkboard, swapping it for the Jamboree sign I had originally intended to use.
