After nearly two years of anticipation, Moonlight Peaks has finally arrived. The wait has felt almost eternal for many cozy gamers—but then again, vampires probably have a different definition of time than we do.Originally announced nearly two years ago, the cozy vampire life sim officially launched on July 7, 2026, quickly becoming one of the most anticipated cozy game releases of the year. Ever since its first reveal, the game has stood out by taking the classic farming sim formula and giving it a magical gothic twist.
As someone who loves vampires, witches, fantasy worlds, and cozy games, Moonlight Peaks has been on my wishlist from the very beginning. I haven't had the chance to jump in just yet—but I've already downloaded the demo and can't wait to share my gameplay and first impressions on Liliefae Games.
What Is Moonlight Peaks?
Instead of inheriting an ordinary farm, you play as a young vampire who leaves behind their family's expectations to begin a new life in the charming town of Moonlight Peaks. Here, you'll build your dream farm, grow magical crops, brew potions, practice spells, decorate your home, and become friends with a colorful cast of supernatural residents.
The game blends cozy farming mechanics with fantasy elements, creating a relaxing experience where you'll meet witches, werewolves, merfolk, fellow vampires, and many other magical creatures along the way. Romance also plays a big role, allowing you to build relationships with the townsfolk as you settle into your new life.
A Cozy Farming Sim with a Gothic Fantasy Twist
One of the biggest reasons I've been so excited for Moonlight Peaks is its aesthetic. The game has all the comforting charm of a classic farming sim, but instead of sunny fields and rustic villages, everything is wrapped in moonlight, magic, and gothic fantasy.
From the trailers, the world looks absolutely beautiful. Between spell casting, potion brewing, magical gardening, decorating, and what appear to be several fun witchy mini-games, it feels like there's always something enchanting to do.
The overall vibe immediately reminded me of Animal Crossing mixed with Fae Farm—two games I really enjoyed. It has the cozy, relaxing gameplay I love while adding a supernatural atmosphere that feels completely unique.
Another feature I'm especially excited about is the character customization. One of my favorite parts of any cozy game is creating a character that truly feels like my own, and from what I've seen so far, Moonlight Peaks offers plenty of options to create your own unique vampire. Being able to personalize my character always helps me feel more connected to the world, so I'm looking forward to spending a little extra time in the character creator before I even begin my adventure.
Characters I Can't Wait to Meet
One of the things that immediately stood out to me is just how full of personality the residents of Moonlight Peaks seem to be. Whether they're vampires, witches, humans, or other magical beings, every character has their own distinct style and charm. Even before playing, it's easy to see why so many people are already picking favorites, and I have a feeling meeting the townsfolk is going to become one of my favorite parts of the game.
The characters above are the ones that have caught my eye the most so far. Whether it's Noel's confident smile, Fiona's witchy aesthetic, Evan's mysterious look, Persephone's warm design, Mina's playful energy, or even the intriguing presence of Death, I can't wait to meet them all and see how their personalities unfold throughout the story.
While Moonlight Peaks features a wonderful cast of romanceable characters, I'm honestly just as excited to build friendships and get to know everyone as part of the adventure. Some of my favorite moments in cozy games come from discovering each character's backstory, watching relationships grow naturally, and seeing how the residents interact with the world around them—not just deciding who to romance.
As I spend more time exploring Moonlight Peaks, I'd love to put together a dedicated character guide introducing the entire cast, sharing my first impressions, and maybe even ranking my favorite residents. So if you're just as curious about the townsfolk as I am, be sure to keep an eye out for that in a future post!
A Long-Awaited Release
Originally announced nearly two years ago, Moonlight Peaks quickly became one of the most anticipated cozy games in recent years. After such a long wait, it's exciting to finally see players exploring its magical world.
The game is available on PC & Mac via Steam as well as Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Android mobile devives on Google Play. While I think this would make the perfect game to curl up with on my Switch, I'll actually be playing on PC. As much as I love the cozy handheld experience, I also want to enjoy every little detail of Moonlight Peaks' beautiful world on a larger screen before I eventually revisit it on a handheld.
Stay Tuned for My Gameplay
Although I haven't started playing just yet, Moonlight Peaks already feels like the perfect game for me. Between the fantasy setting, magical farming, decorating, romance, and cozy atmosphere, it checks just about every box I could ask for.
I'll be sharing my demo gameplay, first impressions, beginner tips, and future guides on Liliefae Games as well as here on Liliefae Blog, so be sure to check back soon. I have a feeling this magical little town is going to become one of my favorite cozy worlds to escape to.
